AusSORA for Australian BVLOS operators

AusSORA, done with data, not paperwork.

Cut the back-and-forth with CASA. Do weeks of groundwork in one sitting. Every figure and justification comes with its source, so CASA’s questions are answered before they’re asked. Your CRP reviews it. You submit it.

  • The lowest risk score you can defend
  • Justifications written for you

Why operators use Intel.Aero

Your problemWhat Intel.Aero doesWhy that fixes it
“CASA keeps coming back with questions, and each round costs us weeks.”Every figure in your case says where it came from. Every zone and aerodrome near your operation is addressed. Assumed figures are flagged before you submit, and each mitigation lists the evidence it needs. Those four gaps are what CASA’s questions are usually about. When the answer is already in your application, there is less for CASA to ask.
“Doing it ourselves takes weeks of finding and checking data.”We pull the ABS population data and the CASA airspace for the exact area you draw, and write up each section. Most of those weeks go on finding, checking and writing up data. That part is done for you, and you make the decisions.
“A consultant costs a lot, takes weeks, and every change means another round.”You run it yourself. Change the route or height and see the new risk score straight away. The consultant’s time goes into the same data work. Once that’s done for you, trying a change costs you nothing.
“Our risk score is too high for the job to be worth flying.”We show you which streets push your score up. Exclude them and the score drops, and the exclusion is recorded.A 1 km average hides the one block doing the damage. Once you can see it, you can fly around it, and the recorded exclusion is your evidence for the lower score.
“We’ve never done a SORA. We don’t know what CASA wants.”The app goes through the AusSORA checklist in order and writes the justification for each section as you go.You answer CASA’s questions in the order CASA reads them, so nothing gets skipped.
“Is this job worth applying for at all?”You get your risk score and SAIL before you commit time or money.SAIL sets how much safety work the operation will need. Knowing it first means you only apply for jobs that pay.

Know every zone, aerodrome and air route you have to address,

including military areas, VFR lanes and the traffic actually flying near you.

How it works: the SORA, in three steps

1

Draw your route or area.

That’s all you need to start. The safety buffers around it are worked out for you.

2

See your risk scores and bring them down.

Your ground risk (iGRC → final GRC), air risk (initial → residual ARC) and SAIL, what’s driving each, and how a change to the route or height moves them.

3

Paste the case into your application.

Each section’s justification with its sources, plus a PDF and DOCX evidence pack for your records.

What you walk away with

  • 2–3 Ground riskYour population figures with their sources, and the exclusions that lowered your score.Answers “Where does this density come from?”
  • 4 Initial ARCEvery airspace zone and aerodrome you’re near, your height, and whether you’re in the airport environment, with the reason.Answers “You haven’t addressed this airspace.”
  • 5 Strategic mitigationsEach claim and the evidence you need for it.Answers “What evidence supports this mitigation?”
  • 6 TMPRWhat you need to see and avoid other aircraft, and who else flies near you.Answers “How will you avoid other traffic?”
  • The evidence packMaps, sources and reasoning as PDF and DOCX, so you can answer a follow-up question from your own records.

Questions BVLOS planners ask

Short answers. Ask us anything else.

Is this CASA approval?
No. We prepare the case. Your CRP reviews and signs it, and you submit it.
Will CASA still ask questions?
They may. The aim is that the common ones are already answered in your application, with sources.
What if I'm near an airport?
You'll see which aerodromes you're near, how far away they are, and whether you're in the airport environment, with the reason written into section 4.
Does it handle broad area BVLOS?
Yes. Draw an operating area instead of a route, and ground risk is assessed across the whole area and its buffers.
Where does my data live?
Your assessments are saved to your account, and you export the evidence pack to keep in your own records.
What does it cost?
The software has published prices, see the pricing page. If you want us to do it for you, talk to us.
Can you do it for me?
Not yet, but we're starting a done-for-you service. Tell us about your operation and we'll be in touch. Talk to us.
